US Failed to Call a Halt to Iran Oil Exports: Veep

TEHRAN (Shana) -- First Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri said: “Iran has so far managed to export oil as much as it needed and the US has had to issue sanctions waivers to eight countries to continue buying oil from Iran.”

The official said on Monday that the US tried to create uncertain circumstances in Iran after Donald Trump took office in the White House.

Since May, the US has pursued diverse approaches towards Iran and had announced it would re-impose sanctions on Tehran by November 4, he added.

Mr. Jahangiri stated that a major portion of the enemies’ plots were foiled by the efforts carried out domestically including sale of oil under US pressure.

“No state except for the Zionist regime and certain regional countries have supported US sanctions on Tehran,” the official added.

The first vice-president first said that the Rouhani administration had worked out methods to ensure continuation of Iran’s oil exports.
