TEHRAN - Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi said here Wednesday that if the EU's proposal to Iran fails to meet Iran's interests, Uranium Conversion Facilities (UCF) in Isfahan will resume work.

Speaking to reporters, after a cabinet meeting, he said the Europeans have declared that they will offer their proposal in due time (by end of July) and that Iran is waiting to receive their plan. On probable change in Iran's foreign policy, he said the country's policy has been based on expansion of relations with neighboring states and other countries of the region. This is among Iran's general principles which will not change. Today's world seeks collective cooperation in the economic sector as well as security affairs, he said, hoping that such policies would continue during the tenure of President-elect Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. On cooperation of the Europeans with the government of the president-elect, he said Ahmadinejad enjoys the support of people and therefore they have no other alternative but to interact with him. On possible changes in the trend of nuclear talks between Iran and the European countries, he said "I think there will be no change in nuclear talks between the two sides because a change of government will not affect the negotiations." Iran's nuclear dossier is among Iran's national interests, and the case should be decided at the highest ranking level, he said. On existing relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia, he said the two sides enjoy very excellent ties at the highest level. Saudi Arabia plays a very significant role in expansion of mutual and regional cooperation, he underlined. On the status of Iranian diplomats abducted in Lebanon, he said according to our information the diplomats have been transferred to Israel and are now in their prison. Iran holds Israel responsible for the safety of the diplomats. PIN/IRNA
