TEHRAN – The second phase of development plan for Mansouri oil field which includes appraisal of the reservoir will finish soon.

Managing director o Kish Oil Engineering Company told Petroenergy Information Network that comprehensive studies on the reservoir will be carried out in several stages, adding, “Gathering information, reservoir appraisal, comparing history, projections and development of the field, constitute various stages of the plan.” He stated that the major development plan is to be carried out in one year and has thus far progressed 40 percent. The official noted that the British Paradigm Company is cooperating with Kish Oil Engineering Company with regard to interpreting seismographic data obtained from Mansouri oil field. Development of Mansouri oil field aims at expanding Asmari reservoir of the field up to a producing ceiling of about 100,000 barrels per day during the first phase. A report issued by Petroleum Engineering and Development Company has put total foreign exchange budget of Mansouri fields development plan at 65 million dollars with final capital estimate standing at 543.75 million dollars. Asmari reservoir of Mansouri oil field was producing 50,000 barrels per day at the beginning of preliminary studies (2002) and production hike is to be realized through operating three production units, each with a capacity of 75,000 barrels, operating a desalting unit as well as a gas injection plant and spudding 10 new wells. Asmari reservoir of Mansouri oil field was discovered in 1963 and production began in 1974.
