Operator
of the phase's development project Payam Motamed said the intricate process was
carried out by the Iranian Offshore Engineering and Construction Company by
means of an Oceanic 5000 doppler velocity log (DVL) vessel.
He said
he 1,500-ton jacket was transferred to its designated offshore spot in August
and its docking began immediately afterwards.
Jacket
docking includes basic criteria for the determination of dynamic response and
loads generated during the offshore installation; the results of the docking
analysis will allow for assessment of the installation method and of the
installation equipment adequacy as well as for verification of the relevant
structural elements.
The
docking analysis regards installation of a conventional steel jacket over two
pre-installed docking piles with different heights.
Oceanic
5000 is a state-of-the-art DLV managed by MSH. DLV means she is equipped with
both heavy lifting crane as well as pipe laying system and astonishingly, as a
new and modern vessel she is far superior to conventional vessels in both
functionality.
