Iran Potent to Supply Europe Energy Needs: President

TEHRAN, Oct. 03 (Shana) -- Iranian President Hassan Rouhani says Iran can supply energy to Europe given the country's ample oil and gas reserves.

During a meeting with Chairman of the Senate of the Republic of Ireland Denis O’Donovan, Mr. Rouhani said Iran can be a reliable source of energy for Europe.

Existence of ample opportunities for developing cooperation between Tehran and Dublin in various sectors was highlighted by the officials during the Tehran meeting.

Rouhani also invited Irish businesspeople to invest in various Iranian projects, particularly mining, petrochemical and energy ones, reported Mehr News agency.

He went on to underscore the need to develop banking relations as the main basis for deepening trade and economic cooperation between the two sides, adding “Iran’s foreign policy includes three key principles such as expansion of relations with the EU, preservation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and the parties' commitment to the agreement, as well as the fight against terrorism," the news agency added.
