Saeid Momeni, director of Gas Distribution at NIGC, said the domestic demand for the fuel has increased by 6.5% year-on-year.

He said an average of 200 mcm/d of gas was consumed for power generation during the period while 103 mcm/d was used in major industries, 45.3 mcm/d in non-major industries, and 147.4 mcm/d in the housing sector.
