Iran Plans 12,000 b/d Crude Output Rise in Abouzar Oilfield

TEHRAN, Feb. 03(Shana) – The Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC) says production of crude oil from Abouzar Oilfield will increase by 12,000 barrels/day from roughly 0.2 mbd once the company starts operation of two newly-installed platforms in the offshore field.

Hamid Bovard said the boost will be made possible as the two new platforms (A20 and A21) start pumping oil from the field.

He said the installation operation of the two platforms finished last Tuesday, January 30.

Loading, transfer and installation of the two structures took 90 days for IOOC, Bovard added, saying this is while the platforms' jackets, each weighing 1,200 tons, took 22 to be manufactured.

Abouzar is located 76 kilometers southwest of the Kharg Island. Its output, now at roughly 200,000 barrels per day from about 90 wells, is transferred via a pipeline to the island for export after being processed.
