TEHRAN (Shana) -- Speculations of Iran's declining oil supply on the market are believed to have drawn up oil prices to unprecedented levels since November 2014. Each barrel of the country's light crude oil is selling at around 73 dollars per barrel in the market.

The average Iranian crude oil price for the week ending on May 11 rose by $3 and 2 cents to $73.79 a barrel. The average price of Iranian light oil since the beginning of this calendar year (which began on March 21) has been 66 dollars and 38 cents per barrel.

Likewise, the average price of Iran's heavy crude oil during the period under review rose $3.02 per barrel, reaching $71.55 per barrel.

The average price of the oil basket of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) for the week reached $73.48 a barrel, up from a week earlier by $2.74 per barrel.
