First offshore Platform of SP 22 to 24 Installed

TEHRAN (Shana) -- Installation of the first platform of phase 22 to 24 of South Pars gas field completed in Persian Gulf waters on Friday, May 25.

According to Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC), Farhad Izadjou, operator of the development project of the phases, said, given completion of offshore drilling operations and preparation of Phase 22 platform, the installation process of the 2300-tonne structure was carried out by the HL 5000 barge and it was predicted that by laying the CRA pipes and completing the hook-up (connecting the platform and accessories to the wells), the platform would be operational by the end of November this year.

He said this was the first of 10 platforms whose construction had been agreed upon by the Iran Marine Industrial Company (SADRA) and POGC.

Fully installed by domestic technicians, the platform is designed to pump up 500 mcf/d of natural gas (equivalent of 14.2 mcm/d).

All stages of engineering, construction and execution of this platform were carried out by Iranian companies, and most of the goods and equipment needed for this structure were ordered from and supplied by domestic producers, said Izadjou.

Phase 22 to 24 of the supergiant South Pars Gas Field are being developed for production of 56 mcm/d of sour gas, 50 mcm/d of methane, 2,900 tons/day of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), 75,000 b/d of gas condensate and 400 tons/d of sulfur.

Sadra and Petro Sina Arya Oil & Gas Co. (PSA) are developing the phases.
