Petchem Feedstock Projects Prioritized

TEHRAN (Shana) -- Iran's National Petrochemical Company (NPC) has prioritized development of projects that are aimed at feeding petrochemical plants across the country, an official said.

The director of projects at NPC, Ali Mohammad Bossaqzadeh, told a meeting of senior petroleum and petrochemical officials held on Monday to assess development of petrochemical projects in the country that the projects aimed at supplying feedstock to petrochemical facilities were prioritized over other projects, NIPNA reported.

The meeting reviewed the current state of the petrochemical industry's projects, including their physical progress, challenges, problems, and the timing of their commissioning and startup. The meeting was mounted in the presence of Marzieh Shahdaei, Deputy Petroleum Minister, NPC CEO and Deputy Petroleum Minister for Petrochemical Affairs Reza Norouzzadeh, and members of the NPC's board of directors and representatives of a number projects under construction.

Mr. Bossaqzadeh said the feedstock supplying projects were considered upstream petrochemical projects and their immediate completion was more crucial for development of the sector in the country.
