Developing Maroun Khami Field Started
TEHRAN – The National Iranian South Oil Company has started development project of Maroun Khami field to supply part of gas needed for injection into Maroun (Asmari) field.
A report issued by the Public Relations Department of the company announced that the project would be carried out in two phases with total production and processing capacity of 200 million cu. ft. gas liquid per day from four wells. Bijan Alipour noted that providing engineering services as well as procurement of domestic and foreign goods has been undertaken by Chegalesh Consultant Eng. Company. “The first phase of the project with production capacity of 90 million cu. ft. per day wellhead products from 2 wells will become operational by September 2004 and its operations include construction of wellhead installations for two wells, construction of 8-inch underground pipeline at a length of 15 km for four wells related to phases 1 and 2 of the project,” he said. Alipour noted that implementation of the first phase will be carried out by taking advantage of all facilities. “Establishment of three special phases for processing gas liquids from Maroun Khami reservoir at an independent unit of Maroun 5 Production Company, future production capacity will be increased to 200 million cu. ft.,” he noted. Alipour stated that production capacity will reach 160 million cu. ft. during the second phase by drilling two more wells and construction of related wellhead installations. Maroun Khami is unique among Iranian reservoirs whose in-place and recoverable gas reserves amount to 1.226 trillion cu. ft. and 1.021 trillion cu. ft., respectively.
