TEHRAN – A research project for simulation and semi-industrial design of synthetic rubber plant of Bandar Imam Petrochemical Complex in Mahshahr city has been finished.

Ali Eezazipour told Petroenergy Information Network that the plant uses a salt water and sulfuric acid system. He noted that this system causes problems due to high corrosive properties of salt and acid and management of the complex decided to simulate the process. The official noted that major advantage of new methods to be implemented in the plant include transparency of produced rubber, lack of even adhesiveness, and easy control during the whole process. According to a report by the Public Relations Department of Bandar Imam Petrochemical Complex, the complex produces 40,000 tons synthetic rubber per year. Bandar Imam Petrochemical Complex is the biggest petrochemical complex in Iran.
