Mohammad Keramati told Petroenergy Information Network that Research Institute for Petroleum Industry has been conducting studies on Azadegan oil field and the current stage was carried out using 3-D seismographic data. The official noted that new studies on Azadegans reservoir have produced more accurate result compared with past methods. Keramati stated that new studies show that in place oil of the field has increased compared to previous study. “Khami layer of the reservoir was also assessed,” he noted. Keramati had already told Petroenergy Information Network that the first stage of studies on Azadegan oil field had reveal in place oil of the field to amount to 27 billion barrels, but 3-D seismographic studies have raised that figure.
