TEHRAN - Iran is to resume nuclear research today, government spokesman Gholam-Hossein Elham said.

Elham made the remark at his weekly press conference with domestic and foreign reporters. "Resumption of research is not subject to legal prohibitions. It was suspended voluntarily. "As announced, nuclear research will be resumed in Iran today in the presence of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) representatives," he said. Asked about Russia's nuclear proposal to Iran, the spokesman refused to give details, saying, "General outlines of the proposal have been announced. Announcement of details will have to wait until after the next negotiations.
