Arvand Co. Plans to Upgrade Products

TEHRAN June 23(Shana)--Arvand Petrochemical Company has decided to improve the quality of its PVC products compatible with its domestic and foreign customers’ demands.

Managing director of Arvand Petrochemcial Company Hamid Fadaee made the remarks in an interview with Shana, adding the company has started feasibility studies pertaining to development of its OXY/VCM and S-PVC products as well as production of flake caustic (caustic soda).

Boosting human resources capabilities and considering environmental challenges have been the other issues on the agenda since the company was ceded to the private sector, he told Shana.

Referring to ethylene and salt as the main feedstock to the plant, Fadaee said high cost of ethylene has raised the price of finished products for the company.

According to him, delivery of feedstock based on open market’s foreign exchange rate will raise not only the price of products considerably but will result in sharp decline in margin.

Since the beginning of the current Iranian calendar year on 21st March 2015, Arvand Company has been able to produce 340 thousand tons of chlorine, caustic, EDC, VCM, S-PVC and E-PVC.

Arvand Petrochemical Company exports its products to countries like Italy, India, Turkey, UAE, Pakistan, Republic of Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Iraq and Kuwait.
