Iran's Zanganeh to Attend JMMC in Algeria

(Wednesday, August 15, 2018) 17:35

TEHRAN (Shana) -- Iranian Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zanganeh is scheduled to attend the September 23 Joint OPEC-Non-OPEC Ministerial Monitoring Committee (JMMC) in Algeria.

In the run-up to the 22 June meeting of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), Iranian Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zanganeh wrote several formal letters to his UAE Counterpart Suhail Al Mazrouei complaining that some OPEC members were trying to adjust output.

The meeting is being convened six weeks before U.S. sanctions on Iran’s oil industry are said to take effect.

The JMMC is chaired by Saudi Arabia. Iran is not on the committee, which also includes Russia, the UAE, Oman, Kuwait, Algeria and Venezuela.
