MOSCOW, Russia -- The Kremlin-controlled OAO Lukoil energy giant discovered a huge oil field in the Caspian Sea that may be Russia`s biggest such find in a decade.
The firm`s discovery well flowed at a rate of 5,840 barrels per day of light, low-sulfur crude oil, the Oil & Gas Journal said Thursday.
Once the field, in what is known as the Severny license, is fully developed, it is expected to produce about 100,000 barrels per day, Lukoil said.
